Marian A. Bucuren
Formerly of Economy Boro
Marian Anne Bucuren passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, PA.
Born on April 1, 1927 in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Howard Edwin and Mary Anna Kretzler Gross. She was a graduate of Ambridge Area High School and the Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh and was employed by National Electric Products payroll dept in Ambridge. After marrying her childhood sweetheart, Gideon Addis (Gidge) Bucuren on Oct. 26, 1946 she proudly had a full time job raising their 9 children. She was an active member and Christian Mother of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Conway. While residing in Scottsdale, AZ she was an active member of St. Daniel’s RC Church serving as Eucharistic Minister of the altar and the homebound.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Gideon on March 23, 2016; and her brothers and their wives, Edward who proudly gave his life as a USAF pilot in WWII, Francis (Laura), and Albert USAF (ret) (Alice).
She is survived by her 4 sons, Thomas of Baden, Gary (Donna) of Economy, Paul (Launa) of Bell Acres, and Christopher (companion Rene) of Economy; 5 daughters, Ellen Semonik (Gerald) of Economy, Carol Bucuren, Patricia Scimio (Michael) of Kingwood, TX, Jill Garzia (William) of Hialeah, FL, and Mary Knox (Robert) of Apache Junction, AZ; 18 grandchildren, Matthew Simonek (Hulya) of Cumberland, RI, Lori Bower (Douglas) of Lebanon, PA, Sara Stakeley (Brian) of Economy Boro, Angela Bates (Owen) of Charlotte, NC, Damian Scimio (Shana) of Humble, TX, Deanna Parker (Scott) of Lakewood, CO, Rachelle Stone (Chris) of CA, Cameron Bucuren of Economy, and Christina Martinez (Vincent) of Economy; 24 great-grandchildren, Eren, Derin, Lukas, Owen, Rylie, Alexandra, Olivia, Charles, Jordan, Jacob, Siena, Ashton, Alex, Zachary, Ethan, Elijah, Matthew, Jeremy, Cole, Talyia, Christian, Jame, Olivia and Kai; and a special “son” John Meinert and special “daughter” and her husband, Janet and Jack Broskin, and dear friends Bernard and Doris Kenny, and Mary Lee and the late Clarence Holler.
