Jeanne Ann Woodke

Obituary

WOODKE, Jeanne Ann (Cecilia) (Elwell) entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2024. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence W. and Exilda M. Elwell, Duluth, MN.  Born May 25th, 1940, in Hibbing, MN, she became a church organist as early as the 5th grade.  She is a graduate of the Benedictine Community at Stanbrook Hall in Duluth, MN (St. Scholastica Monastery).  Survivors include her two brothers, Lawrence F. Elwell, Duluth, MN and Paul M. Elwell, Sartell, MN., her sons Robert A. Woodke (Barbara), Steven P. Woodke, Christopher C. Woodke and her daughters, Linda J. Barthle (Mark) and Sandra J. Matson. Six grandchildren; Mark, Robert II, Morgan, Fr. Drew, Grace, Zachary and five great grandchildren; Will, Ava, Robert III, Rylee and Russell.

She will be remembered for her deep faith in God and the many Church Ministries she was involved in throughout her life, but most of all, her love of Liturgical Music and choral work at the organ.  She played and directed at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Valrico, Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church (Mary Help of Christian chapel), Tampa to name just a few.  She was a dedicated member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and the National Pastoral Ministry (NPM).  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon, FL on Friday January 31th at 10:30 am.
