Obituary
Ana Maria Herrera was born in Havana, Cuba (“It’s an island you know”, she would say) in 1936 to Jose and Ana Toledo. As an only child, she devoted herself to study graduating from the Havana Academy of Business at the age of 16. At the age of 20, she and her parents emigrated to the United States landing in Miami, Florida. She quickly gained employment with the States Attorney’s office, as well as with engineers and architects serving as a bilingual secretary. She married Hector Herrera in 1960 and had two sons. The family made Fort Lauderdale their home in 1967 where Ana worked for Broward County Schools. Ana loved taking her sons to the beach every morning during the summer. After moving to Ormond Beach in 2020, she loved being taken to the beach by her sons. She is preceded in home going by her husband, Hector Herrera and survived by her sons, Hector and Nelson Herrera, her granddaughters, Carla Mulhollan, Ange Coxen, and Monica Herrera, and her great grandchildren, Levi Coxen and Hazel Mulhollan.
