Andrew Labrada, a
devoted public servant, loving father, and a respected member of the community.
Andrew, known as Drew to many, dedicated himself to various roles.
Starting his career
as an LAPD security officer, Andrew served with honor for over a decade before
transitioning to the State of California Department of Corrections. As a
correctional officer, he was recognized for his professionalism and ability to
handle challenging situations with grace, earning numerous accolades throughout
his four-year tenure. Beyond his duties, Andrew also proudly served on the PBSP
Honor Guard and volunteered with the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Search and
Rescue team, showcasing his commitment to public service.
Andrew's passion for
coaching Little League Baseball reflected his dedication to mentoring young
athletes, instilling in them valuable life lessons of teamwork, discipline, and
perseverance. His impact extended beyond the field, as many of his players expressed
gratitude for his guidance, attributing their love for the sport and personal
growth to his mentorship.
In addition to his
professional and coaching endeavors, Andrew cherished his role as a husband and
a father. Survived by his wife, Roxanne, and his children Ava, Damien, Alice,
Kai and Rio as well as countless other family and friends. Andrew's love for
his family was evident in every aspect of his life. An avid Angel fan, he found
joy in attending games with his loved ones in Southern California.
As
we reflect on Andrew's life, we honor his memory and the profound impact he had
on those around him. His sudden departure serves as a poignant reminder of
life's challenges and the importance of seeking support during difficult times.
