Obituary
He was the son of the late Alvin and Lucille Benton Hixson. Benny retired as a welder with Miller Industries. He and his wife, Debbie, were the owners of Hixson Pro-Trim Painting Company and their newest company was Mother’s Cut Flowers at D & B Farm in Birchwood. Benny was a handyman at the home and was one who would give you the shirt off his back as long as you asked. If you tried to steal from him, that was a different Benny to deal with.
He loved music and was a great drummer who rocked it out at his house. Benny was one who never met a stranger, loved playing jokes on folks and was the life of the party. He loved spending time with the family, the outdoors, camping and fishing. There were so many memories made over the nine years of camping with the family, especially with Charlene, Steve and close friend, Bob. Benny was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie Hixson; children, Melissa and Ben; his best friend who was like a son to him, Michael Smith; his Yorkies, Scooter and Eva; numerous special friends, neighbors and extended family members.
The family would like to say a great big “THANK YOU” to all the staff at Memorial NSICU, Main Campus, for their care they showed Benny.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held At 11 AM Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
