Obituary

Betty Lou Ashby passed away peacefully 7/11/24 in Albany. Born in Muncie 6/27/41 to Lena Baker Abbott and Lowell Abbott.
From the time she was a teenager, she helped in her family's restaurant, Halls Restaurant, in Albany.

Betty was admired by so many for having the courage to do so and loved by all of her classmates. She graduated at 29 years old, with the Albany High School Class of 1971. Betty worked at Tiara Exclusives in Dunkirk, and retired from the Albany Veterinary Clinic.
She is survived by her sons: Lonnie Garrison (Clyda), Double Springs, AL, and Kelly Stephenson (Sue), Albany; Daughter: Shelly Cothrum, Albany; 3 step-sons: Bobby Ashby (Lisa),  Albany, Tony Ashby (Tammy), Eaton, and Troy Ashby (Susie), Muncie. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Norman (April, 2024); sister, Barbara Pattison; Step-daughter, Diann Harris; grandson, Noah Cothrum; infant daughter, Jackie Garrison.
In accordance with Betty's wishes, there will be no public services. Cremation was chosen.
