Betty Jane (Honey) Skowronek beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, aunt, cousin and dear friend, passed away, into the arms of our Lord, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.  Betty would have celebrated her 93rd birthday on 12/20/2023.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

They were an amazing and loving couple.  She was also predeceased in death by her loving sister Constance (Connie) Fabian and her husband Francis (Dusty), in-laws, Stanley and Helen Kurka Skowronek, and Nellie Skowronek, Robert and Alberta Skowronek, and Martha Ann and John Kupets.

Betty graduated from South Union High School.  She was a co-owner of Family Grocery formerly located on South Mount Vernon Ave, across the street for old St. Joseph Church, in Uniontown.  Betty was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church and Christian Mother.
Betty and Gene loved polka music and dancing.  They would travel to attended many various polka conventions all over the United States.  After retirement Betty and Gene decided to move to Orlando FL, were they both got jobs in Disney World.  After 6 months, missing her family and grandchildren, they returned to Uniontown.
Betty loved to entertain for the Holidays especially Christmas time. At this time of the year she would be making her holiday cookies, her special foods for all the Skowronek, Kupets and friends who would come to celebrate on Christmas Day.  Betty was able to make all her grandchildren wedding cookies when they married.  Her Grandchildren will miss all the times Grams and Gramp’s would take them all in the Motor home, which she so much enjoyed spending time with them and making memories that we all still laugh about.  Our hearts are truly broken, she will truly be missed. The family would like to thank the Staff of Monarch Meadows and Amedisys Hospice for the care given to Betty.
