Carl Rohrbach

Obituary

Carl Albert Rohrbach, 92, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Obediah Daniel and Esther Mae (Walters) Rohrbach. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Alisae (Lindenmuth) Rohrbach; the two celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary this past July.

Carl began his education graduating from Allentown High School, class of 1949. He went on to Pennsylvania State University, Allentown Extension, Class of 1959, and received his license as a professional engineer. He went on to work as a professional engineer and structural engineer at Air Products and Chemicals for 42 years until his retirement in January 1996, and was part owner of the Cottage Boutique.

Carl also served our country in the Army Signal Cor for two years during the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged.

In his personal life, he was a lifetime member of: the American Legion in Hokendauqua, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4714, National AARP, Lehigh County Senior Citizen’s Center, AirPRO. He also held memberships with Porter Lodge No. 284 F. and A.M., 32degree Mason, Lehigh Consistory, M.O.R.A. Club of Allentown, Northampton Men’s Retirement Club, and Whitehall-Coplay AARP.

Carl was also a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall serving as a Sunday school teacher, church lector, serving on the fellowship and Social Ministry Committees, and chime choir.

He held many offices including: Advisor to Scouts and Explorer, Post 53, Coplay, baseball commissioner at Hoky Playground, merit badge counselor for swimming and life saving, PIAA swimming official, was on the church council at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Coplay, and held multiple offices and positions in the Whitehall-Coplay AARP Chapter (Vice President and Program Chairman).

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his children: Sharon Lee Lucas and her husband, Tim, Carla Anne Wolbach and her husband, Don, Eric Carl Rohrbach and his wife, Michele, and LeAnne Ruth Rohrbach and her wife, Sally DiBartolo; grandchildren: Kyle Kinney and his wife, Amber, Tyler Kinney and his wife, Erin Palmer, Adam Wolbach, Drew Kinney, Evan Wolbach and his wife, Julie, Sarah Rohrbach, and Ben Rohrbach; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Nathan Kinney, Luke, Asher, and Luna Wolbach, and Elijah Kinney-Palmer.

He was preceded in passing by his parents and his siblings: Betty, June, Marion, Mary Jane, William, and Dale.

Calling hours will be held Saturday April 22, 2023 from 10AM until the services at 11AM, all at Fellowship Manor 3000 Fellowship Drive Whitehall, PA 18052. Burial to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes.
