Carol Ann Shoemaker

Obituary

Carol Ann Shoemaker died peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 11th 2026 at age 80.  

She was born on December 25, 1945 in Portland, Oregon.  She grew up in Portland, Oregon and Lewiston, Idaho where she met Michael N. Shoemaker in the 6th grade.  They were married in 1965 and recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. 

In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Carol had many interesting hobbies.  She made candles with her mother and great aunt, she ran a sewing business and sewed anything from clothing to sports bags.  She and Michael also raised miniature horses for 40 years.

Carol was happiest when spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She organized and planned the annual extended True-Messick-Shoemaker family reunion/picnic for many years after inheriting the honor from her mother Betty.  She was a master pie maker and enjoyed huckleberry picking, mushroom hunting and gardening.

She is survived by her husband Michael Shoemaker, children Tracy Gillespie (Hyde/Gil), Jodie Clements (Ben), Duane Shoemaker; grandchildren Rebecca, Timothy, Kayla, Haley, Marissa and Andrew; great grandchildren Carter, Mary, Claire, Gracie, Maximus, Lily and Audrey.

Funeral services will be held at Estacada Funeral Chapel, 110 W 1st Ave, Estacada, at 11am.

Reception to be held at Estacada Odd Fellows, 267 SW 2nd Ave, Estacada at noon.
