In Loving Memory of

Charles "Todd" Wilburn

December 28th, 1964 - March 7th, 2024

Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles "Todd" Wilburn, age 59, who departed from this world on March 7, 2024.  Todd was born on December 28, 1964 in Muncie, Indiana and was the beloved son of Thomas and Barbara Wilburn.  Todd left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Todd's vibrant spirit illuminated his neighborhood as he joyfully rode his golf cart, assuming the role of a beloved "police man".  He greeted everyone with a warm smile, always reassuring them that he was doing great. A lover of music, Todd was a fan of Conway Twitty, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and loved the Ghostbusters theme song. His visits to the workshop filled him with anticipation and excitement, as he eagerly embraced the opportunity to engage in activities he cherished. Todd's zest for life was contagious, inspiring those around him to embrace every moment with enthusiasm and joy.

On birthdays, Todd's sweet tooth was undeniable, as he eagerly anticipated indulging in a big corner piece of chocolate cake, chocolate milkshakes and brownies.  A true charmer, Todd's interactions with his nurses, most recently his hospice nurses Clare and Margie, and the ladies he encountered were marked by his genuine interest and warmth.  As part of his "police man" duties, Todd approached life with a sense of adventure, playfully handcuffing friends, arresting them with a smile, and writing them a ticket.  Todd's heart overflowed with love for his faithful Shih Tzu companion, Tia. Their bond was one of unwavering loyalty and companionship, bringing joy to Todd's life each day.

Todd is survived by his mother, Barbara Wilburn.  Brother Troy Wilburn (wife Cathy).  Sisters Tonyah and Tracy Wilburn.  Nieces and nephews Kasey Martin (Andrew), Connor Cole, Tanner Wilburn, Tyler Wilburn, Brody Heigle.  Great nephews Kaden, Maddox, and Sawyer Martin.  He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Wilburn and his grandmother Della Anderson.

A service to celebrate Todd's life will be held on Monday, March 11th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana 47303.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcroft Service, Inc.
