VIDEO TRIBUTE HERE

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Mark Sampair. Chris was
only 62 when he passed away suddenly on March 4, 2026. Born on June 8, 1963, in Columbus,
Ohio, he was the cherished son of James and Sylvia Sampair. Raised in Raleigh, North
Carolina. Chris completed his high school education there before attending North Carolina State
University, where he pursued studies in communications and engineering.

On Halloween in 1993, Chris met Cinnamon Nelson, the love of his life. The couple married one
year later in Oregon City in a joyous double wedding alongside Cinnamon’s mother and her
fiancé. Together, Chris and Cinnamon built a loving family and made their home in Eagle Creek,
where they witnessed their family grow and flourish.

Chris dedicated his professional life to his field of Computer Engineering, culminating in a career
as a contractor for the Army Corps of Engineers and later with the Bonneville Power
Administration. Beyond his work, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including music—having
played in a band in his younger years—a passion for cooking and camping, a deep interest in
history inspired by the History Channel, trivia, exploring conspiracy theories about aliens,
working on cars, especially the “Gray Ghost,” a project he shared with his father, talking like a
pirate, and his goofy sense of humor that left everyone near him laughing.

He is lovingly remembered by Cinnamon and his daughters, Sydney, Nicola, and Trinity;
brothers, Mike, Tim, and Tom; and niece Bleu and many other cherished family members in
North Carolina. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sylvia Sampair, and his
brother Steve.

Chris Sampair’s life was marked by love, dedication, and a rich tapestry of interests that brought
joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who knew
him.
