In Loving Memory of

C. Gerald Smith

July 24th, 1935 - March 1st, 2024

Obituary

Funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Crestwood Chapel for Gerald Smith, age 88 of Hokes Bluff. Gerald left this world going to his Heavenly Home on Friday March 1, 2024.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10AM until the hour of service on Wednesday. Bro. Anthony Copeland will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services. 
He was reunited with his wife of fifty years, Nell Smith; Sisters Doris (Lawrence) Bradley and Mary Lou (Charles) Lankford; Brother Brent Smith; Grandson Landon McCullough; Brother in law Billy Steele; Special friends Dalton Bradley and Elaine Ray. 
Gerald is survived by his daughter Vickie (Phil) Hill; Sons Greg (Nita) Smith and Barry (Melanie) Smith; Grandchildren Danielle (Destry) Willson, Dustin Ferguson, and Chris Lovvorn; Great grandchildren Addilyn and Chloe McCullough; Sister in law Carolyn Smith; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. 
Gerald was a resident of Hokes Bluff and a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. He was a veteran having served four years with the US Air Force. He was a fine, Christian man and a member of James Memorial Baptist  Church, and former member of Immanuel Baptist Church and East Walnut Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and the churches he had attended and served as a deacon and RA Leader. 
He had retired from Goodyear after 43 years of service. In his free time Gerald enjoyed spendig time with his family and friends camping and boating. 
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Pat Sherrell's Sunday School Class. 
The family would like to express their appreciation to his caregivers Tina, Debbie, and Tiffany for the kindness and care given to Gerald. 

He will be dearly missed by so many. We can only imagine the beautiful smile when he saw his Lord and Savior.
