Obituary
Daniel "Danny" Paul Townsend, age 73, passed away on September 28, 2023 in Muncie, Indiana. Danny was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 4, 1950 to parents Durwood and Olive Townsend.
Danny was a lifelong resident of Cowan, Indiana and graduated from Cowan High School in 1968. He worked for Chevy and General Motors as a machinist until his retirement in 2006. In his spare time, he loved to fish and had an unconditional love for his schnauzers Samantha, Tabitha, and Buddy. Danny was a 7 time NHRA D3 champion and even holds a world record. He was a valued member of the drag racing community and will be missed by those that knew him.
Danny is survived by his cousins, Tom and Judy Snyder; his lifelong friend, Mike Monroe; and his family friends, Mike and Dawn Beal.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Garden View Funeral Home. A visitation to honor Danny's life will be held at Garden View Funeral Home (10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana 47303) on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date.
