Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dean Arthur Hoque on Sunday, 5/17/26. He was too young and had an unfair timing of goodbye.
Dean Arthur Hoque was born in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. His father's name was Jack Emmet Hoque, and mother's name was Kathleen Laverne Gardenhire. His youth years were spent in Medford, Oregon. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture on September 5, 1992, from the University of Oregon.
He enjoyed his numerous years as an Architect. He was extremely proud of his family. He was passionate about his Chevrolet Corvette because it delivered supercar performance. He had so many hobbies. He enjoyed collecting books, magazines, scale model cars, cigars, dachshunds, leather tooling, and pottery. He was part of the Corvette Club, OMSI member, National Associations of Rocketry, Numismatic Association, Philatelic, Archaeology, Astronomy, and NRA. He enjoyed listening to The Beatles, Nirvana, Nat King Cole, Johnny Cash, and so many other timeless classic music. He had many passions to fill his time and had many plans for his retirement years.
He was a collector of many items. His collections include rocks, coins, stamps, butterflies, hot wheel cars and so many more. He had a quiet chuckle that lit up his face. He watched the news daily and had a lot of his own opinions of what was going on in politics and world views.
He is survived by his wife, Natalia Hoque, his brother, Gary Hoque, his son, Chris Waller, his daughters, Bryona Hoover and Megann Hoover, his grandchildren, Julien Brambila, Jayden Sklyarenko, Elijah Sklyarenko and Amelia Hoover.
His stories, laughter, and presence will remain with all who knew him. One of Dean's favorite sayings was "the answer to life, universe and everything is the number 42”. He happens to be in burial plot number 42 underneath a blue spruce tree, it's as if he chose his own resting place. It’s a profound thing when a person’s final resting place seems to perfectly reflect their personality, values, or life’s journey.
My husband passed away too early. He had a lot of different plans for retirement. I miss him so much but at the same time I am thankful for him being in my life for 30 years. There's a huge void where he should be.
