Obituary for Demetrius Edwards, Jr.
Demetrius DiWayne Edwards, Jr., 22, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. He was a 2019 graduate of East Hamilton High School and attended Austin Peay State University. He attended Trinity Baptist Church. Demetrius was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Margaret Edwards, Pauline Moore, and Flister Taylor; great-grandfather, Charlie Moore, Jr. and Alfred Taylor; grandfather, Harold Taylor, Sr.; grandmother, Brenda Taylor; and aunt, Tamika Vinson. Survivors include his father, Demetrius Edwards, Sr.; mother, Hollan Chunae Edwards, both of Chattanooga; grandparents, Cleophus (Rosemary) Heard and Sandra Thomas; brother, DeVonta (Star) Williams; sister, Demetria (Chas) Edwards; nephew, Anthony Broome, III; nieces, Naomi Scruggs and Tresha Singleton; uncles, Lydell (Kim) Moore, Harold Taylor, Jr., Jarred (Sara) Heard, Romel (Krystal) Edwards, Cleophus (Shawana) Heard, Jr., and Raymond Edwards; aunts, Shawanna (Tommy) Moore, Allyson Heard; great-aunts, Elnora (Roy) Miller, JoAnn (James) Harris, Sandra (Ed) Parker, Mary (Donald) Sanderfur, Karen Edwards, and Ernestine Wade; great-uncles, Lionel (Margie) Moore, Charlie Moore, Jr. of Newbern, NC, and Raymond Edwards; special cousin, Lorenzo (Monica) Stewart; a host of other relatives and friends. Demetrius will lie-in-state on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
