Obituary
Dick E. Scott was born on Sunday, April 8, 1928 in Glendale, California to his parents Victor and Ada Scott. He passed away quite peacefully at his home on Thursday evening, July 10th at the age of 97. He was the oldest of three, having a brother, Bill and sister, Delores. He was raised and schooled in Winthrop, Washington and later moved to Tuolumne, California where he graduated from Columbia High School in 1946.
His family then moved to Crescent City in 1947 where Dick met Virginia C. May, and the two of them married in 1948. Their son David was born to them in the summer of 1949, and their son Doug was born in the summer of 1950.
Dick worked many years in Crescent City at Wm. Endert’s Distributing Company with his brother Bill Scott and his brother-in-law Ted Hoffman, who was married to Dick’s sister Delores. He also worked several years at Lanning Motor Parts in Crescent City. Dick retired with Virginia on their “Piece of Heaven” here on earth.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife who passed away in 2022, his son Doug, his brother Bill and sister Delores, as well as his daughter-in-law, Nancy Scott.
Dick is survived by his son David, two grandsons, six great granddaughters and one great great-granddaughter who is yet to be born. All waiting for the Lord’s call.
