Obituary

Dixie Darlene Orr, 91, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 29, 2022. She was born June 25, 1931 in Fort Wayne to the late Edward and Marguerite Bashop. She was devoutly religious and in her later years attended East Springfield Methodist Church on US 20 near her home at Big Turkey Lake. More than anything else, she loved her family and prayed always that all would be saved and reunited in Heaven. Surviving are her children, Ricky (Cheryl) Orr, Randall (Jennifer) Orr, Robin (Russell) King, and Rhonda Clayton; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and friends, Ruby Brouer, Lucy Johnson, and Babette Mires. Dixie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard; three brothers, Jerry, David, and Phillip; sisters, Pansy Becraft and Marvel Powell; grandson, Dustin King; granddaughter, Miranda Orr; and good friend, Jim Eash. Burial service is at 1pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Covington Memorial Gardens with visitation from 11am-1pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
