In Loving Memory of

Dolores Elaine Cook

October 25th, 1933

Obituary

Dolores Elaine Cook passed away peacefully listening to Christmas hymns on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Dolores was born October 25, 1933, in Cuba, MO to M. S. and Dollie (Bandy) Hayse. They later moved to Sullivan, MO and then to Doniphan, MO where she graduated from high school. In 1952 Dolores moved to Springfield, MO.
Dolores retired from Kraft Foods in Springfield in 1992 and loved going to the Kraft Retirees monthly luncheons where she served as treasurer for many years. She also was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and SMU Lady Bears Basketball team. However, she was best known for her beautiful quilts, counted cross-stitch pieces, baking cookies, candy, and peanutty corn brittle. You would often find her sharing these goodies with almost anyone including the postal clerk!
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Anita Kick, Shirley Gatlin, and Juanita Hayse.
She is survived and loved by her sister, Janet Ruprecht (Gary) and their family, her daughters, Wilda Kay Wylie (Marshall Casler), Linda Sue Wylie, and son Dan Cook (Cindy). Also, five grandchildren, Laura Powell, Brandon Powell, Sarah Wylie, Meghan Metzger (Judd), Ben Cook and three great-grandchildren, Landon, Cooper, and Berklee Metzger.
Online condolences may be made to the family through White Chapel/Klinger Pope Funeral Home in Springfield, MO.
Memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Hospice of Springfield, MO and the Employee fund at Copper Rock Healthcare, Rogersville, MO.
Please celebrate her life by baking and sharing cookies! There will also be a Cook Cookie and Coke Celebration in early spring for family and friends to honor her memory.
