Obituary
Dorothy Emma (Ridge) (Haines) Mikan, 106, of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in her grandson''s home.
She was born February 18, 1917 in Millville, NJ to Rev. Guy L. Ridge, Sr. and Ida M. (Eckert) Ridge. She is predeceased by three sisters, Martha Weaver, Eleanor Radle, and Florence Willier and a brother, Guy L. Ridge, Jr.
Dorothy was the wife of the late Robert L. Haines Sr., a devoted loving husband for 57 years and father to their son, Robert L. Haines, Jr., who we loved and cherished all his life - who passed away May 17, 2021. The late Robert L Haines, Jr.. and Elizabeth M. (Brown) Haines had two children: Darla (Haines) Siegel (Bob) of Vienna, VA and Robert L. Haines III of Hummelstown, who took care of Dorothy until her death. After the death of her first husband, Dorothy re-married Stephen E. Mikan, Sr., who she was married to for 19 wonderful years together with her six step children: the late Stephen Mikan, Michael Mikan of Florida, Patricia Loncar of Mississippi, Georgine Liddick of Chambersburg, Annette Bear of Yeagertown and Barbara Mikan of Rio Rancho, NM . She also has five great grandchildren, Robert L. Haines IV of Hummelstown, Megan A. Haines of Hummelstown, and Charlotte A. Flook, Samuel E. Flook and Adam H. Flook, all of Harrisburg.
The Mikans attended Evangelical Wesleyan Church on Marblehead St., Harrisburg.
Funeral Services will be held Monday April 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, with Rev. Mark Heldreth, Officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial at the conclusion of services will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
