Obituary

Dorothy Jo Talley, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the Meadows in Fulton. She was born January 13, 1936 to the late Francis M. and Ida V. Burton. She was a 1954 graduate of Tupelo High School. She worked as a legal secretary for Gary Carnathan and Pete Mitchell of Tupelo. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Verona. 
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Jess D. Talley of Verona; two children, Janice Knapp of Saltillo and Greg Talley (Lisa) of Mooreville; five grandchildren, Jared Smith, James Knapp (Sarah), Hunter Talley, Matt Coleman, and Clay Coleman; three great grandchildren, Aubrey Talley, Noah Knapp, and Jude Knapp; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Burton; and several nieces and nephews. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia Smith and Doris Long; three brothers, Melvin Burton, Marlin Burton, and Carl Burton; one grandchild, Ryne Talley; and son-in-law, Chuck Knapp. 
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Bro. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
