Edward Wayne Barker, 73, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on February 3rd , 2024. He is survived by his beautiful devoted wife, Violet Barker.
A loving father, Wayne leaves behind a legacy through his three children: Michelle (Jayce) Evans, the late Misty Barker, and Matthew (Gretchen) Barker. His role as Papa brought joy to six grandchildren: Devin (Zandelea) Ward, Jenna (Bryce) Alexander, Jason Morgan, Zach Morgan, Bane Barker, and Savannah Barker.
Wayne's care and love for his sisters, Sandra (Larry) Thompson and the late Donna Bennett, was unmatched. He took pride in being an uncle to two nephews, Michael (Katrina) Benjamin, Dillon (Megan) Buhr, and one niece, Emily (Todd) Jones.
A man of passion, Wayne cherished his family, friends and Hallmark movies above all else. His love extended to the Navy, where he served proudly, and the Florida State Seminoles, a team he cheered for with unwavering loyalty. The rumble of his 1970 Chevelle SS 396 echoed the thrill of his daring spirit.
In the tapestry of his life, Wayne wove strong connections with dear friends who shared his joys and trials. His memory will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. His favorite saying was “I will never forget” but the reality is, We will never forget. We love you, Papa.

May he rest in peace while dancing to Strokin’ waiting for my mom, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
