Obituary
Elbert Jerald “Jerry” Johnson was born on September 8, 1941, and passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022. Jerry lived a life full of service to his country as well as to his community. He served as a United States Marine Corps sergeant and spent many of his later years giving back to his local VFW in Crescent City through volunteer work that involved spending time with other veterans and providing food to the homeless. In addition to acts of service, he made the world a more beautiful place through his artistry. Jerry was a skilled craftsman and artist; he and his wife of 33 years (to the day), Louise, produced a wide array of paintings, sculptures, furniture, and other pieces in a small workshop located in the town of their Northern California home.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, his four children: Jerry (Sharmon), Don, Patrick, and Marilyn (Mark); five stepchildren: Stacey (Kevin), Eric, Trevor (Wei), Jennifer, and Tiffany (Scott); and eighteen grandchildren: Jessica, Jazmin, Megan, Katy, EJ, Julianna, Honey, Heidi, David, Kashlyn, Samirra, Amina, Adam, Zachariah, Matthew, Michael, Jacob, and Anna. He will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held at the Del Norte County Veteran's Cemetery Tuesday, April 19,2022 at 11:00 am.
