Obituary
Emmett “Chester” Tate Jr., of Jacksonville Florida, passed away on March 29th, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 62 years old.
Chester was a family man first and foremost. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, listening to live music, riding his Harley, making insane dessert concoctions, his precious dog Topanga and Crown Royal.
During his life long career as a local area flooring installer, he took many young men under his wing to teach them a trade that would keep them off the streets and allow them provide for their families. He was a mentor, a hard worker, and the most loyal friend to all. Many times, he has given the shirt off his back to those in need.
Chester leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Linda Tate, as well as three children: Steven Eddings of O’Brien, Florida, Christina Koller and Sara Leverenz of Jacksonville, Florida and their spouses. He was a proud grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 2.
Services will be held at Arlington Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3rd 2024 at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Patient Assistance Foundation at Cancer Specialists of North Florida.
