Obituary

Frances L. Janik, 91, passed away on December 25, 2022 in Godfrey, Illinois  Frances was born on August 7, 1931 in Granite City, Missouri to parents John and Anna Urban (nee Borosky).

Frances retired from Madison County Courthouse, where she worked for 20 years. After retiring, she worked for Neiman Marcus and Mr. Donuts in Godfrey, Illinois
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Janik; son, Dennis Janik; parents, John and Anna Urban; and nephew, Jerry Serwatka. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Tony (Sonny) and wife, Linda; Stephen (Pepe) and wife, Janice; grandchildren, Derrick (Marie) Janik and Ashley (Cortez) Janik; great-grandson, Colin Janik; nephews, Johnny (Laura), Frankie (Leah), and Terry Serwatka; many great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved very much; and long-time companion Tom Markavick, whom she loved traveling, dancing, and attending Polka meetings with.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m., to 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, IL. Funeral service will start at 2:00,p.m., with an internment immediately following the service at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
