Obituary

Frank Julius Lane,102, of Vero Beach, Florida passed from this life on Tuesday May 7, 2024.

Frank was born November 28th, 1921 in Cincinnati. He met and married his pre-deceased wife Jean there and  raised their children Gary "Rocky" Sr. (Kathy) Cincinnati, OH, Tim (Betsy) Columbus, OH, and Michelle (Tamara Ostling) Milwaukee, WI. 

Frank was a proud army veteran from World War II. He was a police officer in Norwood, OH before becoming a traffic engineer for the city of Cincinnati. In his retirement, he became a true Renaissance man, writing poetry, painting, and perhaps his greatest joy, singing. 

He is survived by their children (as above), 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Gary Lane, Jr.(Twilla) of Cincinnati , Ohio; Shawn Wampler(Nikki) parents of Kendall and Logan of Nocatee, Florida; Clayton Wampler, Anna Rigano(Chris) parents of Samantha and Andrew of Marysville, Ohio; and Jeffrey Lane (Lauren) of Cincinnati.

Frank was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Jean, and his parents father Frank and mother Florence.

Public funeral service will be at St. Helen Catholic Church 2000 20th St, Vero Beach, FL 32960 on Tuesday May 14th, 2024 at 10am. There is no planned visitation. Interment will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 1:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to either of these charities. VNA Hospice at 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960,  https://vnatc.org/waystogive/ The VNA Hospice services and assistance ensured Frank’s comfort and peace until his passing.
