Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Edward Schramm, 84, passed away on December 5, 2023. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on July 27, 1939, a son of the late Harry and Ruth Schramm. 

Jerry worked at International Harvester, later known as Navistar for over 30 years before retiring. He served in the Army National Guard and Air National Guard. In his spare time, he enjoyed being at the lake and was a member of the Lake James Ski Club. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was his favorite past time. Jerry was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Schramm; children, Christine Schramm, Julie (Mike) Morgan, Laura (Lee) Workman, John (Wendy) Schramm,  and James (Jennifer Hout) Schramm; grandchildren, Cory (Serena) Clemmer, Daniel (Jeena) Caywood, Kara Caywood, Thomas (Nicole) Doehrman, Jessica (Josh) Jones, Abigail (Aaron) Pettit, Courtney (Truman) Owsley, Johnny Schramm, Brandy Grischke, Zachary Workman, Travis Workman, Alex Workman, Kaitlin Ross, Josh Ross, and Zach Ross; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Donald) Day and Kathy Schramm.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Charters. 

A committal service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, IN, officiated by Fr. Daniel Scheidt.
