Harold grew up in Tennessee then moved to Lansing, Michigan. He married Betty Sherryl Dunn and had two children, Cindy and Debby. He made their home in Lansing; a warm, safe place. He was always a gentleman and positive and put his family first.

On May 18,1996, Harold and Jane began a beautiful life together. Jane is an incredible woman and always puts Harold first. She gave him the love and care that anyone could ever ask for. She never left his side for 27 years. She is truly a remarkable lady.
There aren't enough words to convey the positive impact Harold made with the time God gave him on this earth. He served in the Army National Guard and was a butcher at Schmidt's Grocery store and Goodrich Shoprite in East Lansing. He loved working in his workshop, he was an excellent craftsman, enjoyed camping, fishing and grilling steaks at mid-night over a campfire, and riding his "Goldwing" motorcycle.
He had more patience, love and strength than anyone we know. God blessed us with this loving and caring husband and father.
"God saw Harold was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around him and whispered "Come to me", a golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best." AMEN
