In Loving Memory of

Herbert Dudley

April 30th, 1941 - December 28th, 2023

Obituary

Herbert O. Dudley, age 82, went to be with the Lord on December 28th, 2023. He was born in Muncie, Indiana and was the son of the late Robert F. and Ethel M. (Houk) Dudley.
Retired Senior Chief Dudley's 22 years 4 months and 16 days of active service to his country was center to who he was and he wore his colors always. He never missed an
opportunity to share his experience with anyone who would listen. Once retired from the Navy he returned home and worked for Muncie's GM plant until it closed its doors.
Dudley enjoyed his retirement years by traveling the country on his Honda Goldwing and golfing every day he could. Golf was certainly his passion!
Herbert, Herbie, Herb, Dudley or Senior Chief was a good friend to so many but family was always his priority. He had become the Patriarch and was always willing to offer advice or support to those in need.
Surviving Herbert are his daughters Lalonna (Rusty) Luther, Paula (Craig) Bonesteel, grandsons Jeffrey McGlothin, Nicholas McGlothlin, Cheniece Bonesteel, and Christopher Bonesteel, eight great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Jacquelyn Dudley. He also had several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Faye and sisters, Mary Alice and Diana Jean and son, Wesley Owen.
TAPS has been played for Senior Chief Petty Officer Herbert Owen Dudley.  He has disembarked and has been relieved of his watch.  Anchors away.  We love you pops!
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday. June 22, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. at Heekin Park Cabin #3 in Muncie. All are welcome to "drop by" anytime during those hours. There will be a carry in lunch provided at noon.
