Obituary

Ligonier, IN - James R. Giesman, 77, was born in Muncie on April 1, 1947. He
passed away on June 1, 2024 peacefully at his home following a lengthy illness.
He graduated from Harrison High. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 - 1969
with a year of service in Vietnam alongside the 14th Combat Engineer Battalion.
He completed an associate’s degree in Electronics at Ivy Tech - Muncie.
He is survived by his spouse, L. Faye (Kissick) Giesman; his daughter, Heather
(Giesman) Coil (spouse, Dan Coil); son, Joseph Giesman; granddaughter, Lilly
Coil; and grandsons, Logan Coil and Vincent Giesman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Christopher Victor Giesman; his mother,
Jessie Ruth (White) Conwell; his brothers, John White and Thomas Hempfling;
and sister, Sally Brown.
His living siblings include Anna Cochenour, Roberta Kissick, Donna Rhinehart,
Sam Giesman (spouse, Suzy) and Mike Conwell (spouse, Cindy).
He was invited to Washington, DC with the Honor Flight Northeast Indiana, flight
#46 on April 24, 2024.
Services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jerry
Burghduff officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held
from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Military honors will be taking place at the graveside at
Gardens of Memory-Muncie.
