Jeanne Cronin Obituary
Our North star Jeanne (Kukanza) Cronin , cherished wife, mother, grammie and auntie, everyone’s ultimate companion, bid her final farewell on May 6, 2024. Jeanne is survived by her husband Mike, children Aimee (Marc) Bleskin, Megan (Steve) Scarsella, Erin (Scott) Pearson, Michael (Laura Mruz) and Katie Rose. Grandkids Olivia, Esme, Emmett, Leonardo, Beatrix, Ignatius, Evangeline, Cordelia, Maeve, Lucia and Cormac, and siblings.
The southside of Chicago didn’t shape Jeanne, Jeanne shaped the Southside with her trademark grit and grace.
Jeanne carried that with her to Fargo, ND where she began her life’s greatest work, being a mom. With three children under 14 months, living 600 miles from family, and a traveling salesman for a husband, her grit and grace served her well.
Jeanne and Mike landed in the Western suburbs where their 3 grew to 5, creating the lucky 7. Jeanne then found time to pursue her second passion: caring for others, which was formalized with her certification of registered nurse.
As her family grew, so did her fanbase, which meant Jeanne always had a steady crew of co-conspirators, looking for a good conversation, or a good laugh (often receiving both).
The highlight of Jeanne’s year was our 40 year strong tradition of vacation in Minocqua. Her favorite place with her favorite people.
Voracious reader, generous creator, maker of magic. Jeanne was brave, mighty, and adored by all. Her light and her love ignited the flames of a torch we will proudly carry in her honor.

Visitation to be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main Street, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515. Family and friends to meet on Saturday, May 11, 2024 for a 10:00AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4801 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515.
