In Loving Memory of

Jerry Cleveland Stults

July 12th, 1931 - February 21st, 2024

Obituary

Jerry Cleveland Stults passed away on February 21, 2024 at age 92 from an extended illness.  Our family will be forever grateful to Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, Indiana for their kindness and the gentle care they provided.  Jerry was born on Wilder Mountain in Tennessee on July 12, 1931 to Henry Cleveland and Willa Mae (Stephens) Stults.  His wife of 67 years, Charlotte L. (Johnson) Stults, preceded him in death in 2018.
When Jerry was a boy, he spent many hours playing with toy cars and trucks, making roads in the dirt and dreaming of the day he’d be old enough to drive.  When his legs were long enough for his feet to reach the pedals, he drove anything with wheels and never looked back.  As an adult he pursued his dream of becoming a truck driver and together with his brother John operated a small business of their own.  After they figured out that repairing trucks prevented them from driving trucks, they changed their minds and decided to build careers elsewhere.  Jerry retired from Delaware Trucking Company in 1994 and shifted his interests to classic cars, restoring his beautiful 1978 MGB.  For the past several years he enjoyed driving his BMW z4 convertible on road trips with his friends Rich, Jim and Tom (in their classic cars) to the Portland Gas and Engine Show and breakfast on a regular basis.  Jerry thought Shamrock Lakes was the most beautiful place on earth and loved living there for the last 52 years of his life.  He was a Korean War Veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star medal with valor.
Jerry is survived by his children Brenda (David) Pfeiffer, Michael (Janet) Stults and Julie Anderson, grandsons Robert Roderick, Jonathan Conner, Michael T. Stults (Sarah), Ryan Stults, Jeremy Turner, Adam Anderson and Parker Anderson, nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, brother Steve (Margaret) Goodman, sister Ginger Goodman and nieces Lora (Bob) Blevins and Shannon Stader.  He will be especially missed by his angel, Vickie Lewis.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Garden View Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana 47303.  Visitation will take place 10:00am - 11:30am with a celebration of life to begin at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to ARF (Animal Rescue Fund) in Muncie, Indiana.
