Obituary

Joan Elizabeth (Yeager) Hemby age 86, passed away in Boynton Beach, FL on Sunday morning, 11/19/23.

Joan was born on July 11, 1937 in Oakland County in the township of Royal Oak in the city of Hazel Park, Michigan to her parents William M. Yeager and Lenora A. Yeager. She graduated from Seacrest High School, Delray Beach, FL. She was a telephone operator in her late teens. In 1956, Joan and W.J. were married in Kingsland, GA.

Joan is survived by her children John A. Hemby of Tulsa, OK, Ronald E. Hemby of Lantana, FL, Diane L. DeFelice of Weirton, WV, Donna L. Marks of Boynton Beach, FL,  and David M. Hemby of Boynton Beach, FL. Also left to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister June D. Danner of Maryville, TN.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Willie John “W.J.” or “Dub” Hemby, her mother Lenora A. Yeager, her sister Shirley J. Enzerra and her brother Robert W. Yeager. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Katherine E. Hemby and great grandson Joel Adonijah Marks.

Joan will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew her.  Flowers and memorial gifts are welcomed but not necessary.
