Obituary
John Richard Evans
was born in Big Sur Slate Springs, California on April 28, 1935.
John peacefully
passed away November 18, 2025, in Crescent City, California, with his wife Alice
of 36 years by his side.
John retired in 2001
after 50 years in the printing and newspaper industries in San Francisco,
Fresno, Tahoe and Delta areas.
John enjoyed boating
with his wife in the San Francisco Bay and Delta. He was an avid and experienced
boater who was always ready to assist and offer a helping hand. For the last
ten years, he spent most of his time enjoying the Wild Rivers of the North
Coast, whether it was hiking on the trails of the majestic redwoods or combing
the nearby beaches for agates and other treasures, he cherished his time
outdoors.
John always enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends. The family visits were especially important
to John, as it was his time to share with everyone the new sights and
adventures that he had discovered while living on the Wild Rivers of the North
Coast.
John is survived by
his three sons and families. Roy (Melanie) Goodyear, AZ, Kenneth (Lenora) Fresno,
CA and Brian (Darcie) Fresno, CA and grandchildren Juan, Elizabeth, Taylor
and Mason and great grandchildren William and Grayson, extended family and
sister in-law Nancy, nieces and nephews.
As we bid farewell
to John, we wish him “Fair winds and following seas.”
