In Loving Memory of

John Ralyea

October 28th, 1940 - December 27th, 2020

Obituary

John was born in Buffalo, New York and, as a young man, spent his summers at the beach in Port Colborne, Ontario. John received a degree from Le Moyne College and attended graduate school at Duquesne University. On May 22, 1965, he joyfully married Barbara Joyce Pieczynski. He worked in banking for 37 years, first in Buffalo and then in Pittsburgh, until his retirement in 2002. In his spare time, John restored many pieces of worn antique furniture to their original beauty. He was an avid swimmer and poker player. John overcame severe polio as a child and became a dedicated Rotarian as an adult. John was preceded in death by his father John, Sr., his mother Lenore, and his brother B. William. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his children John (Bridget), Paul, and B. Joseph (Laura), his brothers Daniel (Susan), Richard (Diane), Peter (Bonnie), and his sister-in-law Sally. He was the very proud grandfather of John, Jeffrey, Kyle, Luke, and Kyra, and he cherished many nieces, nephews, and friends.
