Obituary

Joseph Tristan Marines III passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the age of 77. Born February 11, 1946 to Joseph and Mary (Guillen) Marines Jr. in Houston, Texas. Joe graduated from Lansing Sexton High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He would on to work for Oldsmobile where he retired from the Cadillac Plant after 38 years of employment. Joe enjoyed taking his '92 turquoise Corvette for a spin, watching his beloved Detroit Tigers,  Detroit Lions and MSU Football and basketball teams. He especially enjoyed watching Miguel Cabrera play for his Tigers. Joe was an avid pool player, and he was quite good. He played in leagues for Oldsmobile and at the Old Irish Pub in Lansing. Joe was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his brother, David G. Marines; sister, Linda E. Marines and his parents. Surviving are his children, Kelle (Doug) Gabrielson, Joseph Marines IV, Meesha (Adrian) Cassell; sisters, Alilce Marines, Rosemary Ayala; brothers, Robert G. Marines, Richard G. Marines as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care of West Lansing for their exceptional care. No services will be held for Joe.
