Obituary
Joseph Taylor Sinclair, 78, of South Union Township, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. Joe was
born Thursday, December 20, 1945, in Lexington, KY, the son of the late Joseph Howard and Jewell
Sinclair. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Robey.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, who he married April 9, 1994; his daughter, Ashley Sinclair; his
son Justin Sinclair; and many dear friends.
Joe was a loving husband, father, and uncle who will be dearly missed and remembered. Joe served his
country giving 6 years protecting our nation as a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard. After
attending Eastern Kentucky University and subsequently graduating from Fugazzi College of Business, he
enjoyed a long and successful career in the Natural Gas Industry culminating as Vice President of
Operations for Columbia Gas. During the 1980’s Joe teamed with other key Kentuckians to successfully
launch economic development efforts specifically focused on attracting major international investments
into Kentucky, which was successful with the opening of a major manufacturing plant and its suppliers.
Joe was an active member of both community and professional organizations and was a member of the
Uniontown Country Club, where he enjoyed a good game of golf with his many golfing buddies.
His passion for sports was reflected in time well spent watching his Kentucky Wildcats win a title or
enjoying a good game of baseball watching his favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds.
Family and friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext.,
Uniontown, PA, 15401, on Sunday, February 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, February 19, until
10:00 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
Joe’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Homecare and Hospice, as well
as his private duty caregivers for the care and comfort that they provided.
