Obituary
Joseph D. Sullivan Sr., age 92, of Highspire, died February 29, 2024. Born June 19, 1931 in Steelton, he was the son of the late Alexander and Dorothy (Hesson) Sullivan.
Joseph enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1948. In 1950, during the Korean War, he was called up to active duty. He served as a Drill Instructor in San Diego, CA. After serving many years with the City of Harrisburg, he retired as a supervisor.
Over the years, Joseph enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and crabbing at the shore. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs.
Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Shirley (Long) Sullivan. In addition to his wife he is survived by 1 daughter, Debra Golletti (Timothy); 3 sons, Joseph Jr. (Sharon); Randy; and Gary (Patty); 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2:00pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery 60 Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, PA 17003
