Obituary
Joyce Campbell Hooton , age 90 of Gadsden, Alabama left this earth and enteredHeaven's gates on April 14, 2024. She is survived by her only child, Gale Sanders; son in law Pete Sanders; granddaughter Lauren Hall (Brad); grandson Drew Sanders; great grandson Micah Hall; nieces Judy Hare (Dennis), Jackie Davis (Jim), Cindy Martindale, and Beth Ellis (Matt); numerous great nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend Zera Mullendore; and the one she loved like a daughter Carol Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Leamon Hooton; her mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Dorman Campbell; sister Betty Ramey; brother in law Jack Ramey; nephew Mike Ramey; and special friends Don and Scharlene Atkins.
Joyce was a longtime member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church, Gadsden. She was known for her quick wit, her generosity, and ability to listen and mentor those who approached her. She loved life, her family, her friends, and the faithful ladies of First Baptist Church Hokes Bluff's Homebound Ministry. She had been a resident of Gadsden Healthcare for the past six years and was loved by the staff who expertly cared for her during that time. There were many of the Gadsden Healthcare staff who were special to her and whom we will never forget for their kindness and love to her .
Visitation will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home(Gadsden) on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:30 until 6:30pm.
John 16:22 : "So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you".
