In Loving Memory of

Judith Lynne Frederick

February 2nd, 1944 - June 15th, 2024

Obituary

Judy Frederick, age 80, passed away in her hometown of Ormond Beach Florida, on June 15, 2024. Judy was able to live out her dream retiring to St. Simons Island with her husband Herb Frederick. Upon Herb's passing, she moved to Ormond Beach to be closer to her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Lee, and two granddaughters Bella and Gabby, as well as remain close to the beach.

Judy lived a fulfilling life, being a mom, a wife, a grandmother, and a sister to her two brothers Bruce and Carl, who she loved dearly. She spent much of the second half of her life traveling, playing bridge with friends, going to the beach, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and her dogs.

More than anything Judy adored her family. She was a loving, caring mother to Jennifer and Jason, and treated her son-in-law Lee, and daughter-in-law Mandy as if they were her own children. Her three granddaughters, Bella, Gabby, and Payton, all thought the world of her, and she thought the world of them.  Judy was always a mom, worrying about her grown kids getting sick, getting enough rest, and making good choices. Judy was “mothering” even on her last days, telling her kids to leave the hospital so they could get some sleep.

Judy had a gravitational pull about her, drawing in all family members near and far. She was the glue that kept distant relatives from being not-so-distant. Whether she was planning a family reunion, or hosting Thanksgiving, having guests visit, or just staying in contact with everyone, Judy was the center of the family universe. She kept everyone informed of family news…from the big news, to the mundane everyday stories.

In her final days, Judy was surrounded with loved ones, as she and her family were able to spend quality time together sharing their feelings of love and gratitude for each other. Judy will be missed beyond words, but the lessons and values she instilled in her family, and the joyful memories we made with her, will continue to be a part of her family and friends lives each and every day.

Judy was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Herb, her brothers, Carl and Bruce, and her parents. She was survived by her Daughter Jennifer Buckner, her son, Jason Pauley, her Son-in-law, Lee Buckner, her daughter-in-law Mandy Pauley, her granddaughters Isabella Mack, Gabriella Buckner, and Payton Pauley, and of course, her beloved dog, Jasper.

A graveside service will be held Monday June 24th at noon at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA.
