Obituary
June Ilene Prokop, a cherished longtime resident of Estacada, passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on July 21, 1947, in Oregon City to Gustave and Lucille Peterson, June was raised in the Colton and Estacada area and graduated from Estacada High School in 1965.
In 1968, while crossing a street in downtown Estacada, she captured the heart of Milo Prokop, whom she married in 1971 in a ceremony at her parents' home. The couple then settled on Milo's property, where June worked at a lumber company in Carver. Together, they lovingly built their homestead by hand and raised their three children, Brian, Nancy and Clayton.
June had a passion for gardening and often shared her produce generously. Her love for flowers, animals, and farming enriched her life. She also treasured family vacations at Rockaway Beach where she searched for heart-shaped rocks.
June had a strong faith in the Bible’s promises, especially her hope for the future. Her kindness and dedication to her family and community will be remembered by all who knew her.
