Obituary
Karen Lou Malloch (Mellin), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old.
Karen was born on March 10, 1941, in Alameda, California, to parents Alvin C. and Helen M. (Lynch) Mellins. Karen was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her compassion and generosity.
Alongside her beloved husband, Harold Malloch Jr., Karen was part owner of Virginia Heating and Cooling, where she played an integral role in the success and growth of the business. Together, they built a legacy of hard work, dedication, and excellence.
However, Karen's greatest joy in life came from her family. She found immeasurable happiness in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, bringing her endless joy, laughter, and love.
Karen was a devoted member of the Living Waters Church in Muncie, Indiana, where she found spiritual guidance, community, and support. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyful and challenging times.
Karen and Harold shared a beautiful journey spanning 65 years of marriage. Harold was not only her husband but also her partner in every sense of the word. Their love was a testament to commitment, understanding, and unwavering support.
She is survived by her daughter, Dena Brand (husband, Les); brother, Alvin Mellin (wife, Barbara); sister, LeeAnn Farwell; her grandchildren, Chére Bautista (husband, Mauro), Robert Wiley (wife, Cheryl), Alisha Donaldson, Brandon Donaldson (wife, Mary Lujan), and Brittany Adams (husband, Billy); great-grandchildren, John Bautista, Keith and Anthony Donaldson, Liam, Joey, Maverick, and Owen Adams, and Leila Lujan.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Malloch Jr., and her parents, Alvin C. and Helen M. (Lynch) Malloch.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ken Cavanagh officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Karen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will always remember her as a beacon of light and love. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth, faith, and kindness.
