Obituary

Kathryn Elizabeth Hap, 76, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie, IN. Born in Frankfort, IN, she was a daughter of Lee E. and Kathryn Belle (Wilson) Colcord. Kathryn was a 1965 graduate of Wendell L. Wilkie High School. She then earned her bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1969. Kathryn married Daniel Hap on August 31, 1969 in Elwood, IN. She worked as a teacher's aide for Southwest Allen County School Corporation for 17 years, retiring in 2002. Kathryn was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, painting, quilting and spending time at Jimmerson Lake. Surviving are her husband, Daniel Hap; and son, Andrew (Michelle) Hap. Kathryn was also preceded in death by her parents, Lee E. and Kathryn Belle Colcord; and brother, Phillip Colcord. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.  Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Covington Memorial Funeral Home.
