In Loving Memory of

Kenneth E. "Kenny" Bickel

January 27th, 1951 - May 9th, 2023

Obituary

Kenneth (“Kenny”) E. Bickel, of Bellefonte, died May 9, 2023. Born January 27,1951 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Warren (“Red”) and June Bickel. On January 30 1969 he married Kathleen Border Bickel who preceded him in death on December 10, 2013.

Kenny served in the Pennsylvania National Guard during the Vietnam War after which he returned to Huntingdon to work. Kenneth and his wife retired early, and relocated to Bellefonte to assist their son in raising his, then, small children. Kenny’s heart remained in Huntingdon.

He loved classic cars and watching College and NFL football games. He was a whiz at crossword puzzles. You could always find him enjoying the oldies on the radio. Kenneth loved his family over anything else. When his wife passed in 2013 he was lost without her. It brings the family great comfort knowing that he was reunited with the love of his life.

In addition to his wife, Kenneth’s daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kern Bickel, preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by one son, Toby J. Bickel (Heather) of Bellefonte and three grandchildren, Trevor Bickel, Ava Bickel and Mallory McCauley, all of Bellefonte. One sister, Christine Knisely (Timothy) of East Berlin, PA. Kenneth had many special nieces and nephews who survive.

At the request of Kenny, no viewing or formal funeral service will be held. The family intends on hosting a celebration of life for Kenny in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenny’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at stjude.org or mailed to 500 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

An online guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com
