Obituary
Kenneth Allen Loper, age 70, passed away on Monday, January 3rd, 2011 at his residence in North Liberty, Indiana. He was born on March 31st, 1940 to Kenneth and Jessie (Thompson) Loper in Dundee, Michigan. Ken was an Air Force Veteran and a member of the VFW Post #1954 and the North Liberty American Legion Post #365. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, always finding time to spend with his family whether coaching Little League, leading Boy Scouts, taking relaxing vacations, or just playing games. He is survived by his wife, Judith L. Loper of North Liberty; two sons, Scott (Karen) A. Loper of Sierra Vista, AZ and Kevin W. Loper of North Liberty; grandchildren, Tyler Scott & Jared Kendale of Sierra Vista, AZ, Brieana Kaye of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK, Laken L. of Laporte; father, Kenneth Loper of Michigan; three brothers, Morrell Loper, Marco (Janice) Loper, and Gerry Loper all of Michigan; two sisters, Jessica Simmons of Michigan and Ann Hall of Florida; two surrogate borthers (in-law), Mike & Tim Haag, who taught Ken many of his life lessons, which were greatly valued but frequently learned at Ken's expense. As per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 8th, 2011 at the North Liberty United Methodist Church, 103 South Main Street in North Oiberty at 2 p.m. with Pastor Judith Adams officiating. Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home - 408 Roosevelt Road - Walkerton, IN 46574 is in charge of the arrangements. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens - 4444 W. Grand River Avenue - Lansing, Michigan 48906 on May 18th, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.
