Obituary

Lawrence G. Hallock, age 89, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Bethany Village. Born June 29, 1934 in Marathon, NY, he was the son of the late Glen Conrad and Marion Christine (Perry) Hallock. Larry had worked in industrial chemical sales for Dubois Chemicals and ultimately retired from the Joint State Government Commission in 2000. He was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Harrisburg and was currently a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church. Larry loved music and enjoyed everything from playing the piano or playing his viola at church to attending classical music concerts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Eileen Hallock, and by his sister, Barbara Hanno. Surviving are his six children: Michael Hallock and wife Val, Karen Updegraff and husband Ron, Lisa Kush and husband Michael, Jacqueline Hopp and husband Jeff, David Hallock, and Steven Hallock and wife Grace; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as two nieces and a nephew.
