Obituary

Leila Elizabeth, passed on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Edinburg Regional Hospital , in Edinburg, Texas at 17 years old. Born on Monday November 28, 2005 in Hialeah, Florida beloved parents Diana Garcia and Henry Figueroa, Leila was a very beautiful, smart, and studious girl. She was well rounded by peers, teachers and friends in school and community. Leila was a great daughter, granddaughter, big sister, niece, god sister, cousin, and friend. Leila always put everyone first before herself no matter what. As a child Leila was involved in soccer, cheerleading, dance, softball she grew love for softball and made it her passion. Leila had this unexplainable connection with all children and her dream was to be an elementary school teacher. She loved music she was a mini jukebox from the moment she opened her eyes in the morning to the moment she fell fast asleep the music ran through her body and soul. As she became a teenager her gift for humanity grew founder and made a positive impact leaving her footprint no matter the amount of time that was spent with her. Her high school experience began at iMatter academy in Hialeah, FL from there her journey continued at Edinburg North High School in Edinburg, TX where she shined even brighter as softball pitcher, powerlifter, she joined multiple honer society clubs such as National honors, Spanish, Deca, and National Technical these are only a few of many honer society clubs she actively participated in. Leila created goals for herself that she  accomplished one being she graduated a whole year early with honors and top of her class. Leila was accepted at Texas A&M, UT Austin, UTRGV, and many more, Leila decided to attend UTRGV to be able to stay close to her mom and her Tata. Leila and her Tata had a bond like no other they were like two peas in a pod, her Tata was her little bestie from Raspa buddy, chili’s date, park buddy, chick fil a, Starbies, target and Dunkin’ Donuts copilot. Overall they are soulmates! Once accepted into UTRGV Leila was majoring in her BSN with hopes of one day becoming a neurologist, and looking forward in pursing her childhood dream of also becoming a teacher.

This is only a small piece of Leila Elizabeth legacy
