Obituary

Loretta Maxine Mills Lytton, 86, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born on July 1, 1937, in Montgomery County Virginia to the late Ward W. and Bertha Thompson Mills. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Pvt. Marvin Mills; sisters, Della Mae (Sudie) Adkins, Gladys Lytton, and Evangeline McCoy; daughter, Alicia Gay Lytton; and great grandson Evan Tucker Lytton-McFalls. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jerry Mason Lytton; children, Derek Lytton, Marvin Lytton, Karen (Eugene) Simpkins, Joseph Lytton, and Melinda Larkin of Largo, FL; grandchildren, Scott Lytton, Stephanie (Brandon) Guthrie, Jeremiah Simpkins, Caleb (Regan) Simpkins, Ethan Simpkins, Tyler J. Simpkins, SSGT. Craig Larkin of Okinawa, Japan, and Alicia Larkin of Largo, FL; great grandchildren, Austin and Noah Lytton, Elyssa and Sawyer Guthrie, Catalina Larkin, Jayden Marshall and Raelynn and Joseph Simpkins; and special cat “Tippy”. The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice for their care during this time. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Horne Funeral Home officiated with Pastors T. Michael Bond and Frankie Graham officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
