Obituary
Martha "Joann" McCormick, a beacon of strength and kindness, peacefully departed this world at the age of 81. Alongside her husband, William J. McCormick, she co-owned McCormick Tire, dedicating over three decades to serving her community with integrity and compassion.
Even in retirement, Joann's vibrant spirit continued to shine as she embraced a part-time role at Pizza Hut, where she brightened the lives of all she encountered with her warm smile and genuine care.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Joann's love knew no bounds. She poured her heart into her family, cherishing every moment with her family and friends. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Joann is survived by her daughter, Brenda (life partner, Brian Bridenstine) Poole; her grandson, Dakota (fiance, Brittanie Reid) Poole; and great-grandson, Hudson Poole. It brings the family great joy to share that Dakota and Brittanie are expecting a child, a testament to Joann's enduring legacy of love and family. She is survived by her sister, Mary Joan Allen; niece, Gail Allen Justice; her nephews, Ralph and Terry Allen, and Sam and Greg Ruby; and her special neighbors, Jim Lucas, Dave Hines, and Tina King.
Joann is preceded in passing by her loving husband, William J. McCormick; mother, Earmel Pansy Smith; son, Tommy McCormick; sisters, Nevada Ruby and Margaret Joyce Wheeler; her nephew, Steve Ruby; and niece, Glena.
A graveside service will be held for Joann on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery located at 10703 North State Road 3, Muncie Indiana, 47303 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Rev. Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will take place immediately following.
Joann's legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. While she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
