Mary Hadley

Obituary

Mary Hadley of Indianapolis passed away on May 6, 2022.   She moved to San Diego in 2020 to be near her daughter, Sue. Hadley. Mary and Sue shared quality time together enjoying the beautiful weather, shopping and frequenting favorite restaurants.

Mary was born in Indianapolis and moved to Martinsville, Indiana with her family as a child.  She returned to Indianapolis as a young adult and married Charles Hadley in 1945.  She enjoyed 73 years of marriage until losing her lifetime partner in 2018.  

Through the years Mary held various clerical positions.  She worked many years as the Classified Advertising Manager for the Northside Topics Newspaper and as the Assistant Marketing Director for the Glendale Shopping Mall. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bridge, crocheting and knitting Afghan blankets.  She and her husband enjoyed many vacations to San Diego to visit their daughter. Mary was mild mannered and a woman of faith.  She was caring, loving and soft spoken.  She lived a long life and will be missed by her daughter every day.

Mary was born to the late Burl and Mattie Mansfield.  She is survived by her daughter, Sue Hadley, sisters Alice Fleener, Norma Adkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles and sisters Irene Poehler, Annie Mansfield, Margorie Mansfield and brothers Jerry and Paul Mansfield.

No funeral services are planned at this time.  Future burial will be at Forrest Lawn Memory Gardens.
