She touched the hearts of everyone she met and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Mary Jo's love story with Richard Peterson began on July 7, 1987, during a connecting flight from Atlanta, GA to Daytona Beach, FL. Their journey together was nothing short of a beautiful adventure, culminating in marriage on February 10, 1990. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Kyle and Chloe. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and her children were her greatest joy in life. Mary Jo's love extended to her three beloved brothers, Jeffrey L. Timko OD, Randy Timko, DC, and James Timko AUD, who meant the world to her. As the youngest and only girl in the family, Mary Jo shared a special bond with her brothers, and their love for one another was evident to all who knew them.

In her professional life, Mary Jo embarked on her career as a Licensed Optician in 1985, starting at her eldest brother's Optometry practice. Her dedication and passion for her work were undeniable. She eventually found a home at Walmart in Orange City, where she continued to excel in her profession. Mary Jo deeply cared for her colleagues and held immense respect for the patients she served throughout her career. Beyond her career, Mary Jo had a passion for cooking, travel, and life's simple pleasures. Her warm smile and loving nature left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services to honor Mary Jo's life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at DeLand Memorial Gardens. A celebration of her life will take place in the St. Teresa Hall at St. Peter Catholic Church, where friends and family can come together to remember the beautiful soul that Mary Jo was. Mary Jo Peterson will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and strength, and her memory will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
